Archaic

Case study

Archaic was a brand designed for modern China, produced by a traditional client. With a target demographic of modern city goers, I was responsible for the design and development of a fresh Brand, Product and Website.

A brand

With a timeframe of 2 weeks I developed a brand strategy and brand identity for Archaic

A product

Following the brand design I began designing a series of products for a Chinese New Year gift pack. Included are a product brochure and product packaging for various items.

A showcase of the packaging which was used on the Archaic package delivered to families in Shanghai. It is primarily red, with various decorations and text, mostly in mandarin. The package consists of Tofu, Rice cakes and tea eggs.

Product Packaging

The external product packaging went through various designs with the final design seen parallel - included in the package was tofu, rice cakes and ‘tea egg’ which was a rough translation meaning eggs boiled in tea.

A website

My final weeks in Shanghai were spent designing a website for the Archaic Exhibition. The project went through the stages of Discovery, Wireframing and Design. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 my internship was cut short and I was brought home early.
